Our December Health TechNet meeting focused on the impact of the elections and the economy on Healthcare technology and the industry generally. We also discussed the effects of the economic slowdown on providers (especially hospitals) and vendors (especially the information technology sector).
The meeting featured the presentation of Scott Mason, SKM Enterprises, who provided us with an overview on the Implications of the Economic Implosion on the healthcare industry. Mr. Mason, together with Suniti Ponkshe, IBM, and with the assistance of other experts present, conducted an active discussion on the effects of the economic slowdown on providers (especially hospitals) and vendors (especially the information technology sector).
The transition at DHHS, including the use of the internet by the incoming administration to garner support and receive input from private citizens and interest groups relating to various aspects of healthcare reform was also discussed.
