Our September Health TechNet meeting focused on Telemedicine and its applications to medical care, medical specialties and remote care. The meeting featured the presentations of Jay H. Sanders ( MD, FACP, FACAAI) , a pioneer in telemedicine and currently President and CEO of The Global Telemedicine Group; Joe Diorio, Telehealth Manager of Tandberg NA; and Sunil Saxena, MD, FACEP, Chief Medical Officer, and Chairman of AFrame Digital. They provided us with an overview of telemedicine today as well as a look at future prospects for monitoring various disease states and for a range of remote care applications.
Information about the American Telemedicine Association and the Federal Government ‘s telemedicine initiatives, including the Telemedicine and Advanced Technologies Research Center, which support the development of the technology and the industry was also provided.
