eko systems provides a point of care, perioperative electronic medical record system. It consists of a back end and a front end. The back end has been deployed at Inova Fairfax Hospital since 1996 (96 nodes). The company is in the process of completing its front end application to replace another system that it is currently riding on. Clinical perspective was provided as to the importance of electronic record vs. paper records. The technology is an enabler toward improving business and clinical processes.
