Our June Health TechNet meeting was an in-person event held at Nelson Mullins’ offices in Washington, D.C.
At this meeting, Dr. Joe Bormel and Jim Oakes gave an update on the aftermath of the Oracle acquisition of Cerner Corporation (now Oracle Health), including a review of publicly available information and the results of interviews with current and former employees, clients, and others familiar with the transaction and similar recent mergers and acquisitions in the health technology space. We also heard an update on what is going on in Congress generally, in the wake of the debt ceiling legislation and other Congressional activities on healthcare legislation. This update was provided by Chris Cushing, who is the Team Leader, Federal and State Policy at Nelson Mullins.
